Mozza 2021 Refresh

Even the best brands need a little “lift” every once in a while. ’Cause there’s nothing like pizza fresh from the oven.

If you’ve seen the earlier page about our work for Mozza in Los Angeles you notice we say: “The branding has remained virtually intact since opening.”

That’s 100% true — but what’s also true is that when we were asked to help the Mozza team expand to both London and Los Cabos, Mexico we asked stopped to think.

“Might it be time for a brand refresh? Not an overhaul – but a slight tinkering. Subtle changes that can have a great impact on the brand persona and appeal.”

Our brief was simple: let ourselves be guided by the personal style and personality of the woman at the helm of the Mozza ship: Nancy Silverton. This wasn’t a radical departure from the initial brand brief: An artful combination of familiar simplicity and sublime artistry. It was merely a doubling down.

The result was an inherently lighter, brighter, more quirky interpretation of Italian culture. Served up with a heavy dose of LA style and panache. It’s a big scrap book from a trip to Italy. Last month? 50 years ago? Modern? Nostalgic? Authentic? Reinterpreted? It’s undefined — we leave it to the guest’s imagination.

We relish these long-term relationships with our clients. While we willingly accept the role of brand steward we also love the chance to constantly push things forward and, by doing so, providing new opportunities to delight our guests.
